TT Rockstars

Year 4 children will take part in a Multiplication Check (MTC) in June 2023. The PTFA have again purchased a great times table package for the school called 'TT Rockstars'. There are lots of different areas the children could go into including the ‘Garage’ or ‘Studio’. The Garage is a training
mode where they work through the tables (recommended) and the Studio is random questions up to the 12x12 times table. Ultimately, we hope this makes learning the times tables fun while they become more fluent and knowledgeable in their times table recall. They can also earn ‘coins’ to update their avatar rock star!

RENAISSANCE READING

All of the children are on the Renaissance Reader book scheme and they should be bringing home a number banded, while they'll have another book in their tray in school. We already have lots of children who are keen to complete their quizzes. I have reminded the children that the quiz tests their understanding of the book and as we are looking for at least 80%+ for a pass rate on their quiz, we always advise to read the book through thoroughly at least twice before attempting the quiz. Children should be taking quizzes regularly (ideally once every 2 weeks) and they should know the results of their quiz.

Please make sure you are continuing to read regularly with your child ~ they should be bringing their books home EVERY day!!

Home Learning

Home learning will be issued at the start of each term and will consist of a range of tasks based around English, Maths and Curiosity about our current topic. Children can pick and choose the tasks they'd like to do. They can share what they do with the class every Thursday in our class assembly. Spellings for the term will be tested at the end of each term.

Water Bottles

Please ensure that your child has a water bottle in school every day and that they bring it home to be washed out and refilled.

If you have any concerns, or question, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can be reached through Class Dojo, or the school telephone number. We are usually in the playground most days after school too.

Kind Regards

Mr Mitchell
