Autumn term 2021 ~

How do we know so much about the past?

Mrs Wong and Miss B  - Class Teachers

Miss Bevan and Ms Moses - Teaching Assistants

This term we are learning about significant events and people from the past. We will be starting our topic in Ancient Rome and Pompeii, and will finish the term looking at people living through Word War 1.

In Science we will be acting like real scientists; developing our scientific enquiry skills by asking questions, performing simple tests as well as observing and recording to help us answer the questions.

In Maths we are really deepening our understanding of the place value of numbers up to 10 before moving into looking at addition and subtraction with 10. It is crucial to create a solid understanding of early number and early mathematics for us to build upon through the year.

In English we will be following the Read Write Inc Scheme. This will include daily practise of the sounds set 1-3 and each book will focus on a new sound where we learn to segment and blend new words in our reading before using the new sound within our writing. These words will link in with the spellings for homework.

PE is on Wednesday. Please wear PE kit to school ready for the afternoon.

Spelling test will be on a Thursday with scores and Homework given out on Friday.

If you have any questions or queries please use ClassDojo to contact us. We endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

Many thanks,

Mrs Wong and Miss B
