'One family - sharing, caring, learning together'
We are all very proud of our St. Edward's family and we hope that this website gives you a small insight into our daily lives and the information you might need.
At St. Edward’s we want everyone to feel welcome and all our children to feel safe and supported no matter what challenges they face. We want every child to be curious and excited by learning and are committed to providing high quality provision across the whole curriculum. All of this is underpinned with our values; love, kindness, courage and respect which are consistently promoted by all adults and children.
The school was founded in 1846 and moved to its present site in 1971. Our school motto (decided by the School Council) 'One Family- sharing, caring, learning together' means all children are valued members of the St. Edward’s family and the school is committed to the flourishing of every individual child. The family ethos of our school is second to none and this is frequently commented on by parents and visitors to St. Edwards. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated staff, parents, ptfa, church team and exceptional children.
On the 1st November 2015, St Edward’s became a member of the St. Christopher's Primary Multi-Academy Trust and we work hand in hand with the Trust and our fellow schools to make sure that we strengthen and draw upon our wider family. We constantly strive to improve and welcome ideas/feedback from children, parents, staff, governors and the Trust.
Our most recent inspection by Ofsted was January 2018 and we were judged to be a GOOD school. The report celebrates the many strengths of our school and the progress which children make in our school. Our Ofsted report can be read below and at www.ofsted.gov.uk.
The Diocese of Exeter also carried out their inspection in September 2016 and the school was deemed as 'Good'.
Please feel free to contact the school for additional information or a look around.
