Reaching Out

Pride in Plymouth

This year our overarching theme across the school is ‘Pride in Plymouth’. Throughout the year we will be celebrating all the reasons why it’s great to live in Plymouth and the talented people we have here. We will also be finding out about Plymouths around the world.

Going Global !

St Edward’s Church Primary has been awarded the Advanced International School Award. The school is linked to schools in Spain, New Zealand and South Africa.

This year we are working on developing links with a Plymouth C of E school and an inner city school. We are also hoping to be linked with a French school and a school in Plymouth USA.

We have hosted teachers from Spain and America and have worked with an American University.

All pupils  are able to use our e-mail and webcam facilities, as well as the good old postal service, to keep in regular contact with their linked school.

Supporting Medic Malawi

Pupils, parents, staff and friends of St Edwards continue to support the Medic Malawi Charity. Money raised is used to send Blessings and Henderson to school and to provide resources needed for the hospital and orphanage. Mr Forsyth leads an assembly on a termly basis to update the children on how the money they have raised supports others.

Bees

As our mascot for the year is Bees ( don’t tell the bee he can’t fly!) we have raised money to buy 2 beehives, tools and training sessions from OXFAM to send to Africa.

Harvest

Our Harvest festival donations were distributed by Plymouth Foodbank this year. ( add in scanned letter of thanks and photo)

Web Designers

Our Gifted and Talented web designers are currently designing web pages for local businesses. The web pages they have created can be viewed from the links on the HOME page.

4SON4

Family Services continue to take place at the school led by Carrie, Derry and the team. These services are great fun for all the family with craft activities , song and prayer. Please see the Steady Eddy for the next dates.
