Jenny Oliver,
Parent Support Advisor (P.S.A)
What I can do for you as your PSA?
- Bridge the gap between you and the school, by providing you with information you need and answering your questions.
- Pass your views, praises and concerns to the school.
- Represent you at the Parent Forum.
- Offer parenting and adult learning courses.
- Support you through the transition periods.
- Develop activities and opportunities to meet with other parents in the school.
- Support you in meetings.
- Signpost you to outside agencies that could provide you with extra support.
I am able to do this in an impartial, non judgemental way. Which allows you and your family to get the most out of me and the school.
Parent Support recognises that parents have needs too. Parents are dealing with their young person’s transition through their different stages and development. This can be extremely difficult. It is important that a trusting relationship is built with the family. You can then feel confident in accessing the support that you need, from someone that is not part of the statutory service.
How you can contact me?
- You can contact me through the school, my mobile or email.
- The days that you can always contact me in school, or pop in for a chat (and a cup of tea) are Mondays and Fridays.
- On the door to my office you will find additional times you can find me in school.
- Newsletters will be sent home via your child informing you of coffee sessions you can attend. Everyone is welcome.
