Adrenalin Taekwondo, Peter Howse

The club has been running under the name of Adrenalin for the past three years, although I (Peter Howse) have been teaching taekwondo for the past seven years. Taekwondo is a martial art that is for all ages and abilities, we take children from the age of 5-12 and adults from 12-?? You're never too old to start.

We have three different venues :-
St Edwards church school, Eggbuckland
Monday& Friday evenings 4.30-5.45pm (mixed)

St Johns church hall, Ivybridge
Thursday evenings 7.45-8.45pm (adults)

Fortstamford lesuire centre, Plymstock
Thursday evening 4.30-5.45pm (mixed)

Fortstamford lesuire centre, Plymstock
Friday evenings 7-8pm (children) & 8-9pm (adults)

I am the chief instructor and owner of the club and I teach at all the venues except Thursday evenings at fortstamford where Mr Frank Sheppard who is my assistant instructor teaches and runs this class. I have also two other assistants Mr Mario kawao (black belt 1st Dan) and Mrs Carolann Kawao (black belt 1st Dan) who help with teaching and also sit in on gradings to make sure that all gradings are done fairly.

The main two structures of taekwondo are:-
Traditional: which is learning Korean language, traditional stances, a selection of movements known as poomse`s.

Competition: this is a full contact Olympic sport, done in a controlled environment. Protective equipment is worn.

Learning both of these contribute towards working your way through the belts, from white up to black belt. For those who just want to train for fitness we have a purple belt.

Cost:- £3.00 per session for adults and children. There is no joining fee for our club, although after four weeks you would need to apply for licence and insurance. The cost is £15.00 for the year. We have a good, friendly, approachable atmosphere at the club and welcome everyone as an individual.
